Pakistan captain Babar Azam addressed his teammates after the Test series win against Sri Lanka on Thursday.
Speaking after the match, Azam lauded Saud Shakeel, Agha Salman, Abdullah Shafique, Nauman Ali and Abrar Ahmed for playing a key role in Pakistan’s series win.
He also admired the determination of wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed, who was hit on the head during the first innings of the second Test and was replaced by Mohammad Rizwan as a Concussion Substitute.
Azam also backed Pakistan’s positive style of play, famously known as ‘The Pakistan Way’, during the series.
Pakistan completed a 2-0 series sweep against Sri Lanka after left-arm spinner Nauman Ali helped the tourists secure victory by an innings and 222 runs on day four of the second Test on Thursday.
After taking a lead of 410, Sri Lanka's batting lineup was rocked by Nauman at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) ground to claim a career-best 7-70 as Pakistan romped home inside four days.
Angelo Mathews remained not out on 63 but Sri Lanka, who managed 166 in the first innings, were dismissed for 188 in the second.
Speedster Naseem Shah bagged the remaining three wickets to clinch Pakistan's biggest Test win in Sri Lanka.
Earlier, Pakistan played two overs on day four, allowing Mohammad Rizwan to notch up his half-century before declaring on 576-5.
Agha Salman, who bagged the award for player of the series, remained unbeaten on 132.
Pakistan opener Abdullah Shafique was named the player of the match for his career-best 201 that helped Pakistan post a mammoth total in the first innings.
